The truck, owned by caterer Hunter Johnson, will roll up at 11:30 a.m. and serve food until 1:30 p.m., so make sure you stop by on your lunch break! Johnson’s truck is also an attraction in itself, as it’s wrapped with an image of the beautiful Dallas skyline.
According to an interview with the Dallas Observer, Johnson sets his operation apart from other catering trucks around Dallas: “We want to run an upscale deal,” he said.
Try Johnson’s upscale food this Friday at the International on Turtle Creek, 150 Turtle Creek Blvd.
If you thought the Design District was all about designer showrooms and art galleries, think again. The Green Zone, Project X’s theater studio located at 161 Riveredge, has been premiering new works in its intimate, 80-seat space since 2007, and is making a splash in the Dallas theater scene as the venue for Kyle Lemieux and James Mackenzie’s production of David Mamet’s “Oleanna.”
“Oleanna” is a two-character play illustrating the power struggle between a male college professor and his female student. Directed by Mackenzie, the play stars Lemieux, founder of the Dallas Actor’s Lab, and Natalie Young, who recently wowed reviewers in Second Thought Theatre’s Red Light Winter.
The Dallas Actor’s Lab is a theater coupe dedicated to producing “challenging and provocative” theater through “intentionally intimate productions,” according to their website. The Lab will make its entrance into the up-and-coming Dallas theater scene with “Oleanna,” which will run Thursday – Sunday until Aug. 14.
