Trinity Skyline Trail Moves Forward

With all the buzz surrounding the Trinity Strand Trail, we’ve forgotten to notice the Trinity Skyline Trail going in along the Trinity River levee! The new trail, which follows the river for 4.6 miles, is nearing completion. The Trinity Trust posted a picture of it this afternoon, and it looks like it’s going to be a great way to enjoy the Trinity River area that’s right next to us here in the Design District.

The opening celebration for the Trinity Skyline Trail, along with the Continental Avenue Bridge, will be on June 15th as part of the Trinity River Revel.

JR’s ‘Inside Out’ Project Comes to Dallas via the Dallas Contemporary

French street artist and photographer JR will be roaming West Dallas, Deep Ellum and the Design District next week taking black and white photos with his mobile photo booth. The project, called Inside Out, won the 2011 TED Award for a “global participatory art project with the potential to change the world.” With over 120,000 people in 108 countries participating, JR allows anyone to send in a group of portraits to the Inside Out team, who will then blow them up into posters and send them back to be pasted in “the most publicly visible location possible” in the participants’ home city.

To have your portrait taken, show up at the following places next week:

Tues., Jan. 7th, 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. : Trinity Groves, Pink Building at Gulden & Singleton
