Post-Thanksgiving, the shopping scene can get a little crazy — midnight brawls in dressing rooms, lines that circle the block and anxiety from trying to reach the last PS4 on the shelf before the rest of the crowd. Luckily, the Design District Market has the perfect cure for your Black Friday hangover: a peaceful, locally-focused shopping experience fueled by craft beer, live music and good vibes on Small Business Saturday.
Taking place at Community Beer Company from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., shoppers will have the opportunity to pick up their Design-District-brewed craft beers for $4 a pop, or 3 for $10. Then, they can peruse the 70+ vendors located both inside (which will be heated) and outside the brewery, stopping to play some giant Jenga, corn hole or pool along the way. Of course, there will be plenty of food trucks lined up for when the munchies hit, and local bands The Roomsounds, The Venetian Sailors and Recycled Photographs will be on stage throughout the day to provide the soundtrack.
For some original gift ideas, make sure you hit up Haus of Growlers for the beer-lovers, Texas Hill Country Olive and In a Pickle for the foodies, Artigianale and Cantoinette Studios for the fashionistas, and Dixie Goods Company for the pets. Speaking of pets, feel free to bring them along! Children are welcome as well, so bring the whole family.
Parking is available along Slocum St. and Inspiration Dr., as well as in the front parking lot of Community Beer Company off of Stemmons Freeway. We encourage everyone to take alternative transportation to the event! Community is a short walk or bike ride from the Victory DART station, the Katy Trail, and the American Airlines D-Link stop.
Community Beer Co. is located at 1530 Inspiration Drive, Dallas, TX 75207.
You can see more details about the event, as well as a full list of vendors, on the event’s Facebook page.
